Diabetes Care
Dr Kasi Subbiah provides expert, personalised diabetes management including advanced technology like insulin pumps and continuous glucose monitoring.
Type 1 diabetes
A lifelong condition where the body's immune system attacks and destroys the cells that produce insulin.
For advanced insulin pump and hybrid closed-loop information, visit our Diabetes Technology treatment page.
When specialist diabetes review may help
Consultant review may help when the diagnosis or diabetes type is uncertain, glucose remains above or below target, treatment is causing side effects, pregnancy is planned, complications require coordination, or continuous glucose-monitoring and insulin-pump data need expert interpretation.
Type 1, type 2 and technology-supported care
Review may include insulin adjustment, carbohydrate ratios, correction factors, hypoglycaemia, sick-day rules, cardiovascular and kidney risk, and appropriate non-insulin treatments. Continuous glucose monitors, insulin pumps and hybrid closed-loop systems can be reviewed where relevant, alongside practical training and a clear backup plan for device failure.
Pregnancy, complications and UK-wide video consultations
Diabetes before or during pregnancy requires dedicated targets and timely specialist monitoring. Kidney, nerve, eye, foot and cardiovascular risks are assessed according to individual need. Many consultations and data reviews can take place securely by video across the UK, while examination, blood tests and urgent care are arranged locally when required.
Type 2 diabetes
A common condition that causes the level of sugar in the blood to become too high.
